Beauty Must Haves

Tuesday, August 8, 2017

If you're anything like me, you get bored easily with the same old beauty routine. I was blessed a few years ago to be added to a Facebook group whose sole purpose was to discuss beauty. From products to routines, this lovely group of women had me addicted within days. Since joining, I have tried SO MANY amazing products and tricks. It would be a sin not to share some of my favorites with you.

This amazing little device will make your skin look and feel years younger. Caution: Because the derma roller includes tons of tiny needles that basically create micro-injuries to your skin, the first couple of times using this can seem painful. Beauty is pain, my friends. However, the tiny injuries get your collagen and elastin production working like crazy to make sure skin feel tighter and more fresh. Combine this process with a Vitamin C or Hyaluronic Acid Serum, and your face will be feeling 10 years younger in no time.

My favorite Derma Roller Kit can be found here:

Let's be honest, I hate taking the time to wash my hair. Believe it or not, I have been told by multiple stylist friends that it is actually better for your hair to get a break from being washed every day. I can't tell you how many times I wake up with the full intention of showering and looking amazing for the day, only to find it 2:00 PM before I've even brushed my hair, much less washed it. For those days, my go-to product is Batiste Dry Shampoo. Being blonde, I'm a fan of the Blonde Dry Shampoo, but I also like the Wild. The Wild gives me so much more volume, and as you know in the South, the bigger the hair, the closer you are to God. Amen?

You can check out the Batiste products at great prices here:

OK ladies, now this is something I have tried SO MANY different versions of. I have a serious problem when it comes to buying eye shadow palettes. I can have 17 barely-used palettes in my makeup drawer, and I'm still going to buy a new one just because it has that ONE shade I've been looking for. Rest easy though, I have finally found a palette that none of us should be living without. It has such a wide range of color options that all compliment each other perfectly. Do yourself a favor, and check it out here:

4. FACIAL CLEANSING WIPES (Organic preferred)

I swear to you, I have the most sensitive skin known to man. I have tried every type of facial cleansing wipe under the sun, but every one has always left me red-faced and irritated feeling. That was until recently. After doing a ton of research on face wipes that would not destroy my skin, I finally found the hidden gem! Made by Aali Naturals, these facial cleansing wipes contain coconut oil, chamomile and aloe. Not only do they pull away all the remnants of my mascara, but they do so without burning my face and leaving my skin feeling completely beaten.

You can check them out here:

I must admit, I made the switch to gel eyeliner a few years ago. It is so much easier for me. I don't have to deal with the trouble of getting it in my eye like liquid eyeliner, and it doesn't hurt to apply thicker lines like it does with a pencil. Since the switch, I have tried different brands like Mac, Bobbi Brown, Revlon, etc. What I have found is that the price tag doesn't necessarily make this product better or worse. I've recently started ordering ELF brand from Amazon, and I'm more than satisfied. It will typically cost you about $6-7 per unit. However, as of right now, Amazon actually has this great product on sale for $2.99! Check it out here before it's too late:

Be sure to check back for updates and more must haves! As always, we'd love to hear your feedback. Leave us a comment below or send an email to!
